A message from the District Governor Welcome to Toastmaster New Year 2009 -2010. District 13 is on a roll. For the first time in our 67-year history, we are a distinguished district three years in a row and will get the special recognition of “Excellence in Leadership” from Toastmasters International on August 14, 2009, at its International Convention, Mashantucket, Connecticut. Thanks to our past District Governors, executive officers, and especially you, our club officers and members, who worked hard over the years and earned this special accolade for all of us to share and be proud. Your dedication to realizing greater potential in yourselves and your club members also touched many lives and changed your world for the better. As we embark on the new year 2009 – 2010, we again urge you to commit to excellence so that we as Toastmasters reach our full potential and realize our dreams, and in the process make our Clubs and our District 13 President’s Distinguished. Have a wonderful Toastmasters year.
Toastmasters Leadership Institute TLI was a great success with over 150 officers trained. If your club has not yet had at least four of its officers trained, time is running short. The Lt. Governor of Education and Training has to submit the list of officers trained to TLI no later that 31 August. Contact your Area or Division Governor ASAP to get your officers trained. Clubs with trained officers are more successful than clubs whose officers have not been. Do NOT pass up this opportunity to start your club off right.
